Dave joined MIT as a PhD student in Professor Kripa Varanasi’s group. Kripa and Dave were developing a coating solution for the Oil & Gas sector when they invented the liquid impregnated surfaces platform. Faced with an overwhelming interest for the technology, following the participation in two invention competitions, Dave left his PhD program to set-up LiquiGlide Inc.
