Steven M. Bauer is a partner and co-chair of the Patent and Intellectual Property Group of the international law firm Proskauer Rose LLP, based in its Boston office. Mr. Bauer also is a Visiting Lecturer at MIT, where he teaches 6.903 Patents, Copyrights, and the Law of Intellectual Property, during the Spring Semester.
For over thirty years. Mr. Bauer has concentrated his practice exclusively in complex patent and technology matters, as lead counsel in cases including RNAi technology, digital hardware and software, encryption, financial services, high-energy plasmas, and nanotechnology and high-temperature superconductors. Mr. Bauer has been active in the ³smart phone patent wars,² recently winning a patent case on behalf of his client MobileMedia Ideas, against Apple in a jury trial in Delaware.
Mr. Bauer is a graduate of M.I.T. (S.B., S.M., Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) and Boston University Law School. He has represented many clients built by MIT entreprenuers, including Analog Devices, RSA Security, SeaChange International, Cognex, Sensable Technologies, E-ink, and Witricity.
